Privacy, plainly

Privacy, plainly.

The whole policy, in plain English — what we hold, why, how long, and how to be removed. If any of it isn't clear, email us and we'll fix the wording.

Who we are

The Quiet Engine is the trading name of Victoriam Sales Limited, registered in England and Wales (company no. 13606514), Merlin House, Brunel Road, Theale, Reading, RG7 4AB. We're the data controller for everything described here. Questions: [email protected].

If you book a call or ask for a PDF

We collect what you type — your name, email, and whatever you tell us about your processes — and use it to do the thing you asked: run the call, send the map or the PDF. Legal basis: taking steps you've requested (contract) and our legitimate interest in following up sensibly. We don't add you to a mailing list; at most you'll get the three emails described on the booking page, and any of them has a working unsubscribe.

If we emailed you first

We research UK businesses that look like they have the problems we fix, using publicly available sources and business-contact databases (currently Apollo.io). That means we may hold your name, role, business email and company details before you've ever heard of us. Legal basis: legitimate interest in reaching businesses our service is relevant to — weighed, documented, and narrower than you'd expect (a few hundred carefully chosen emails a week, not a firehose). Say the word and you go on our suppression list and stay there.

What we don't do

No advertising pixels. No cookies that need a banner (there aren't any). Our analytics (Plausible, served from our own domain) counts visits without identifying you. Nothing you type into the calculator or the self-audit leaves your browser unless you explicitly ask us to email it to you. Our transactional email goes through SendGrid; open-tracking is switched off.

How long, and your rights

Enquiry data: 24 months after last contact, then deleted. Prospect data: deleted or suppressed on request, and refreshed lists are re-screened against the suppression list. You can ask for a copy of what we hold, correction, deletion, or restriction — email [email protected]. If we've got something wrong, you can complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).

The first step is small

Nothing to opt into. Just a free plan.

When you're ready, book a free 30-minute process audit — you leave with a written map of what could run itself, whether or not we ever work together.
